Bichi LG Renovates Schools, Hospitals for Quality Education, Healthcare Delivery — Council Boss

As part of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration’s drive to improve education and healthcare delivery, the Bichi Local Government Council has renovated classroom blocks and health facilities across its domain.

The Council Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Sule Mai Fata, disclosed this when senior officials of the state’s Ministry of Rural and Community Development paid him a courtesy visit during their familiarisation tour of local government areas in the state.

Mai Fata said the council renovated numerous schools and hospitals, while also providing teaching and learning materials as well as essential equipment for rehabilitated health centres.

He noted that all 11 wards in the local government benefited from the renovation of two to three schools per ward, with full support from the state government and under the supervision of ward councillors. In total, 33 schools have so far been renovated across the council area.

The chairman further revealed that Governor Yusuf had directed all 44 local government chairmen in Kano State to compile lists of dilapidated schools in their areas to ensure comprehensive rehabilitation.

Among the hospitals already renovated by the council are those in Damargu, Kwamarawa, and Tudun-Wulli, while renovation work is ongoing at four additional facilities.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Advancement, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdus-Salam, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Musbahu Badawi Maigari, said the ministry was mandated by the governor to tour local governments to engage with community leaders, village heads, and ward heads. The aim, he explained, is to identify challenges and determine the needs of the people for more effective government response.

In his remarks, the District Head of Bichi and Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Mannir Sanusi, highlighted the development initiatives of the Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, especially those aimed at improving welfare and upholding justice and dignity within the community.

The event was attended by village heads, ward heads, and Imams from across Bichi Local Government Area.
