Wike fulfills Tinubu’s Promise, flags -off Rehabilitation of 15 km Karshi -Kado-Die Die Roads

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The FCT Minister Barr Nysome Wike said he has kept one of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promises to Abuja residents as he flagged off the rehabilitation of 15 kilometers of old Karshi, Kado, Die Die roads.

Wike said, “Today, to the glory of God, we are here to fulfill that promise made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I made a commitment to the traders and residents here that it was not just a promise in words but one that would be fulfilled, given the importance of this road.”

He noted that completion of the roads will bring in total transformation to the communities, as he called for more support for the president.

The FCT minister however stated that the AMAC Chairman Hon. Christopher Maikalangu has pleaded for rehabilitation of the community roads as one of the needs of the people.

” I remember when we commissioned the Saburi Road, and I called on the Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu. I asked him to tell us what his people still needed from the government.”

“He mentioned this same Old Karshi Road from Kado Village to Dei-Dei, as well as the Ketti–Kabusa and Kabusa–Takushara roads.”

This administration is working hard to change things for the better, both for Nigerians and for the people of Abuja, he said.

Wike further enumerated other structural developments ongoing in the territory such as the award of the total rehabilitation of Government Secondary School, Dei-Dei. Out of 103 schools, 73 are currently under construction, and 33 more will soon be flagged off. Out of 105 projects, 73 are located within AMAC and the city.

Earlier, in her vote of thanks, the Minister of State for FCT, Maryam Mahmoud said, “This road is a lifeline that serves thousands of commuters daily, linking communities, reducing travel time, improving road safety, and stimulating socio-economic activities across the axis.”

She stressed that the project was yet another testimony of Mr. President’s vision of delivering roads that promote connectivity, accessibility, and economic growth in the FCT.
