The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for prioritizing the reconstruction of the Warri–Sapele–Benin Dual Carriageway, describing it as a landmark project that will transform Delta’s infrastructure landscape.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, after Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony, Guwor described the project as a critical infrastructure that will boost economic activities, improve safety and productivity, and enhance the quality of life for Deltans and residents.
He noted that the road’s deplorable condition had long been a nightmare for motorists and lauded the Governor’s efforts in not only initiating its reconstruction but also fostering collaboration with the Federal Government to drive sustainable development in the state.
The Speaker also highlighted the significance of other ongoing projects, including the construction of flyovers in Effurun and Warri, as clear evidence of the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to modernizing Delta’s transport network.
Guwor charged the contractors handling the projects to maintain high-quality standards, adhere to deadlines, and deliver durable infrastructure that meets international benchmarks.
As National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, Guwor reaffirmed that the Delta State Assembly would continue to provide the necessary legislative backing and oversight to ensure timely completion of the projects.
He further urged residents to support the Governor’s development vision and the “Renewed Hope for More” agenda, emphasizing that unity and collaboration remain key to achieving sustainable progress in Delta State.
