The Kogi State Scholarship Board (KSSB) has forwarded the data of 23,828 validly completed applications to the state-appointed independent consultant for verification ahead of the 2025 Bursary Award.

The Executive Chairman of the Board, Mr. Afolabi Joseph-Raji, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja. He said the submitted applications include 23,609 undergraduates and 219 Law School students whose entries were successfully completed on the Bursary Management Portal.

Joseph-Raji explained that the Board received a total of 42,743 applications during the online registration period, but only 23,828 met the required completion criteria. He noted that the verification exercise is part of the state’s efforts to strengthen accountability and transparency under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He appealed to the verification firm, Fast Mita Nigeria, to conduct the exercise diligently and complete it within the approved four-week timeline. According to him, timely verification will ensure prompt disbursement of bursary allowances and scholarship support to qualified students across the state.

The Chairman reiterated the Board’s commitment to fairness, transparency, and accountability in managing the bursary award process, stressing that students’ welfare remains a priority for the Ododo administration.

Representing Fast Mita Nigeria, Mr. Anthony Ogor assured the Board that the company would carry out a thorough and interference-free verification exercise.
