Former Head of Women football in the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ruth David was celebrated in Benin City at the Annual General Assembly as she was awarded the federation’s long service award.
According to the federation, Ruth who is now in the International Department was given the award for diligently and meritoriously serving the NFF for over 20 years.
The award which was presented to her, by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki marked another milestone in the rising profile of the dynamic sports administrator.
Ruth who was born in Zaria Town, Kaduna State holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Sports Management from Bayero University, Kano.
Ruth was retained by the NFF after her National Youth service as an accountant II and through promotion she rose to the position of accountant I and later deployed to International Competition Department to continue her career.
While in the competition department, she served as secretary to all the Women National teams and various women committees and rose to become head of women football development unit.
As an aspiring football administrator, she attended FIFA and CAF trainings and she was one of the 35 women football administrators’ world-wide selected for FIFA female leadership development programme.
Through her career progression, she rose to the rank of an Assistant Director Sports under International Competition Unit of the Nigerian Football federation.
