Fire Outbreak Guts 4 Blocks of Flats in Asokoro District

A fire outbreak gutted four out of five blocks of 3 bedroom flats at number 13 Nelson Mandela Street in Asokoro District , Abuja.

Residents of the building said they noticed fire on the solar panels mounted on the roof of the building before it turned into an inferno.

The affected building is said to belong to former Zamfara State governor, Senator Ahmed Yerima.
According to the Head of FEMD, Search and Rescue Team, Mr. Monday Addie, the incident was reported at about 1pm.

Although no life was loSt
to the incident, however, the four affected flats were totally burned.

According to FEMD, items destroyed by the fire incident include furniture, clothing, food items, and other personal effects.

Head of Public Affairs Personnel of FEMD, Nkechi Isa, said the Federal Fire Service, FCT Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency, and the FCT Police Command attended to the incident.
