A youth group, the Musa Youth Support Initiative for Renewed Hope (MYSI–RH), has commended the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Jerry Adams, for distributing food items to Muslim communities in Southern Kaduna during the Ramadan season.
In a statement issued in Kaduna by the group’s Convener and National Coordinator, Samuel Ateh Stephen, the organisation said Adams provided more than 1,200 bags of 25kg rice along with other food supplies to support Muslim faithful observing the holy month. The group described the initiative as a humanitarian gesture aimed at assisting vulnerable members of the community during a period traditionally associated with charity and compassion.
According to the statement, the distribution reflects Adams’ commitment to community support and social responsibility, particularly during religious observances.MYSI–RH also noted that such initiatives complement efforts by the Kaduna State Government under Governor Uba Sani to promote inclusive welfare programmes for residents. The organisation said acts of philanthropy during Ramadan help strengthen social cohesion and provide relief to families observing the fasting period. The group encouraged other public officials and private individuals to support community-based initiatives that promote unity and assist vulnerable groups across the state.
Ramadan, observed by Muslims worldwide, is marked by fasting, prayer and increased charitable activities.
