The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its official records to reflect a new National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following the party’s national convention held in Abuja.
The update, published on INEC’s website on Monday, lists Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other members of the party’s national leadership.
The development follows the PDP National Convention held on Sunday at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, where party officials emerged through a consensus process after the dissolution of the national caretaker committee.
INEC’s publication effectively reflects the outcome of the convention, which produced a full list of national officers across key positions, including deputy chairmen, secretaries, treasurers, and other administrative roles.
The updated list includes key figures such as Aaron Chukwuemeka (Deputy National Chairman, South), Yusufu Akirikwen (Deputy National Chairman, North), and Umar Bature (National Organising Secretary), among others.
The PDP has faced internal leadership disputes in recent months, with different factions laying claim to party structures. INEC’s latest update provides official recognition of the leadership emerging from the Abuja convention.
