The National Youth Alliance (NYA) has called on political leaders to demonstrate more decisive and people-focused leadership in response to Nigeria’s current economic and security challenges.
In a statement issued by its National Youth President, Aliyu Bin Abbas, the group reacted to a planned press conference involving Atiku Abubakar and other opposition figures concerning developments within the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The NYA acknowledged the role of political dialogue but said the situation in the country requires actions that go beyond formal statements.
The group noted that many Nigerians, particularly young people, are facing economic hardship and insecurity, and urged both government and opposition leaders to prioritise initiatives that directly address these concerns. It encouraged leaders to adopt measures that promote national unity, public engagement and confidence-building among citizens.
The organisation also stressed the need for visible commitment and collaboration across political lines to tackle pressing national issues. According to the statement, leadership at this time should focus on practical solutions that reflect the needs of citizens and contribute to stability and development.
