Dogara Salutes Dangote at 69, Celebrates His Industrial and Humanitarian Legacy

Hon. Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), has joined the chorus of tributes to Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, as he marks his 69th birthday. In a heartfelt message, Dogara described Dangote as “a visionary nation-builder whose impact will echo for generations,” underscoring his dual legacy as both an industrial titan and a humanitarian.

Dogara noted that Dangote’s entrepreneurial journey has fundamentally reshaped Nigeria’s economy. From cement and sugar to salt, fertilizers, and the landmark Dangote Refinery, his investments have not only transformed industries but also created millions of jobs across the country. “Alhaji Dangote is not just an entrepreneur; he is a symbol of resilience, discipline, and excellence. His vision has redefined what is possible for Nigeria and Africa,” Dogara said.

He emphasized that Dangote’s ventures have strengthened Nigeria’s global standing, making the country less dependent on imports and more competitive in international markets. The Dangote Refinery, in particular, has been hailed as a game-changer, promising to revolutionize Nigeria’s energy sector and reduce reliance on foreign petroleum products.

Beyond industry, Dogara highlighted Dangote’s philanthropy through the Dangote Foundation, which has supported health initiatives, education, and humanitarian relief across Africa. From funding hospitals and schools to providing aid during crises, Dangote’s generosity has touched countless lives. “His philanthropy reflects a deep commitment to humanity. He embodies the spirit of giving back and lifting others,” Dogara added.

Dogara also reflected on the inspirational power of Dangote’s story, stressing that his rise from modest beginnings to building Africa’s largest conglomerate serves as a beacon of hope for young Nigerians and Africans. “His journey proves that with hard work, faith, and determination, Africans can build enterprises that rival the best in the world. He remains a shining example of African excellence,” Dogara concluded.

As Dangote celebrates his 69th birthday, his life and work stand as a testament to the transformative power of vision, enterprise, and compassion. His legacy is not only in the industries he has built but also in the hope he inspires—that Africa’s future can be defined by innovation, resilience, and generosity.
