The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has conferred its Fellowship on the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, in recognition of his contributions to public communication and governance.The honour, one of the institute’s highest distinctions, was announced as part of efforts to recognise individuals who have advanced professional standards in public relations and national development.
According to NIPR, the award acknowledges Goronyo’s role in promoting transparency and improving communication between government and citizens, particularly in the implementation of infrastructure projects.In his response, the minister thanked the institute for the recognition, describing it as a call to greater responsibility.
He emphasised the importance of ethical communication in governance and public service delivery. Goronyo also urged NIPR to strengthen public awareness of government policies and programmes, especially in infrastructure development, to enhance public understanding and engagement.
The institute also named several Honorary Fellow-designates from different sectors, including Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa, JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede, and former TETFund Executive Secretary Suleiman Bogoro, among others. NIPR said the selection reflects recognition of contributions to governance, education, security, and communication.
