AFIT, NASI seek collaboration with NDA in training, research, innovation

The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) and Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) are collaborating with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in the areas of training, research, innovation and development.
Commandants of the two institutions were at the Academy in Kaduna on Tuesday to push for the collaboration.
In his remarks, the Commandant of NDA, Maj.-Gen Jamil Sarham, said the academy has highly trained personnel capable of providing needed expertise in all fields to other military and civil institutions.
“The academy boasts of time tested and highly skilled military and non military personnel who, when called upon, can always help other military and non military institutions to attain their full potentials.”
Sarham said the Academy was open to any form of collaboration and linkages that would add value to the country.
He disclosed that the NDA had build synergy with other institutions and was extending support to others in order to accelerate growth in several sectors and fields of study.
He assured the two military institutions that the NDA remains committed to producing quality officers for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Earlier the Commandant of AFIT, AVM Abdulganiyyu Olabisi said the institute would always seek for advice, support and assistance from the Academy.
Olabisi who is course mate of the NDA commandant, said, “We are happy with your appointment; we will have robust synergy in research and innovation and will always seek for advice and support.”
Also the commandant of NASI, Maj.-Gen Kelvin Aligbe, sought for collaboration in the area of training of quality infantry officers.
Aligbe said, though NASI is principally training army infantry officers and soldiers, it will still collaborate with the NDA for support in producing well grounded and skilled infantry committed to protecting the country from all threats. (NAN)
