Lagos, Feb. 13, 2020 Two sales representatives, Olajide Okeola and Chukwudi Obinani, on Thursday appeared before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos over alleged theft of their employer’s N1.5 million.
Okeola, 25 and Obinani, 24, whose residential addresses were not given, are standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Ingobo Emby, told the court that the defendants committed the offences sometime between May and June 2018 at Lekki Garden Estate Phase 3, Lagos.
He said that the duo conspired and stole the amount belonging to the complainant, Momas System Nigeria Ltd.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ngozi Ibe, urged the court to grant bail to the defendants on liberal terms.
In a bench ruling, the Magistrate, Mrs O. O. Otitoju, granted them N100, 000 bails with two sureties each in like sum.
She said that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendants or a clergy man while the sureties must deposit their national identity card or their international passport with the court.
She adjourned the case until March 5 for mention.
