COVID-19: Nigeria tests 420,543 samples in 24 hours … records 54,743 spike

According to NCDC situation report 189, Nigeria has tested 429,543 samples in a single day, one of the highest in recent times. With 156 confirmed cases from 17 states.

The cases are, Lagos 36, FCT 35, Oyo 29, Kaduna 10, ABA 9, Enugu 5, Ogun 5, Osun 5, Rivers 4, Ekiti 3. Other affected states are Imo 3, Nasarrawa 3, Edo 2, Katsina 2, Kwara 2, Plateau 2, and Niger 1. This is in view of a 54,743 case spike recorded so far across the country since the pandemic hit the country. The NCDC update shows 42,816 discharged cases with 1,051 confirmed deaths with demographics of 34,767 males and 19,976 female, showing more male fatalities of 64 percent against 36 percent female fatalities.
