Adamawa state governor tasks Council Chairmen to priorities Youths Welfare in the State

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri tasked the 21 local government council chairmen in the state to impact on the welfare of youths as his administration is poised to give more priority to youths empowerment in 2021.
The Governor who gave the charge when he received in audience, the chairmen in the Conference Hall Government House, Yola said his administration will reduce restiveness among them.
He saluted the chairmen for being proactive towards ensuring that the recent upsurge in the state capital did not escalate to their local areas, noting that they have done their best in that regard.
He challenged them to take full charge of their local areas and strive to improve the living conditions of youths to enable them realise and regret their actions and inactions in the recent unfortunate incident.
Fintiri thanked traditional and religious leaders as well as the good people of Adamawa for condemning the recent act of looting and vandalizing of public and private facilities.
The Governor cautioned people in the state to avoid inciting negative comments that will lead to such a crisis in the state but rather team up with government to better the lives of youths who are leaders of tomorrow.
He declared that government has so far recovered about 80% of the non food items looted in the recent ransacking of public facilities in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the ALGON Chairman Adamawa, Alhaji Jingi Rufa’i said the visit was in solidarity to the Governor for demonstrating leadership during the recent upsurge.
Rufai who is the Chairman of Mubi South local government council saluted the Governor in dealing with the challenging situation describing it as politically motivated and urged him not to be deterred by the actions of the hoodlums.
He prayed to God to guide and grant the Governor good health and wisdom in piloting the affairs of the state and assured the him their total unflinching support towards taking Adamawa to the next level.
