Chief Izzi Yakiah, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa, says there is no leadership crisis in the state chapter of the party, as alleged in some media reports.
Yakiah, who is also National Cordinator, Niger Delta Activist Group and Execellent Leadership disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday in Yenagoa, the State capital.
He said that the reports were the figment of imagination of those peddling them.
Yakiah said, APC under the leadership of Chief Timipre Sylva, the former Governor and the Minister of State for Petroleum had remained peaceful and united in the state.
According to him: “There is no crisis rocking the Bayelsa APC, all what you see or read are issue that has been trashed out before the Governorship election.
“You will agree with me that the party came in one accord, if not for the Supreme Court judgement all those issue has been resolved.
“In Bayelsa the party has one leader which is Chief Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum, he has made several leadership stride in the state.
“He won over 43 percent of the Presidential election which is the highest in the South-South and the South East region, till date the record has not been beaten.
“Facts are here for us to verify, he was able to win one House Representative member, one Senator, and four Assembly members,” he said.
He described politics as capacity, ability, saying that that one cannot claim to be a leader without a follower, you need to have a reasonable followers before you claim it.
The APC Chieftain, said Sylva is the one that brought APC to Bayelsa state, he has stood for the party, he has carried the party to the level Bayelsa peoplr are very happy with the party.
“The APC stakeholders meeting was held on February 2, 2021 at the party Secretariat along Mbiama Yenagoa Road, Bayelsa State, Chief Sylva also attended the meeting.
“In that forum a lot of issue were discussed regarding the APC membership registration and revalidation exercise.
“The Minister did a lot to ensure that the party is in unity, he equally ensure that 20 APC members were appointed at Federal Parastatal and Boards, all in this 2021.
“All the people causing problem are the people who has benefited from him, as he has a large heart to assist, as he has a forgiving spirit,” he said.
He said , with Sylva the state is calm, that he has drown development to the state, like the commissioning of the Content Tower, Brass LNG, project, Elebele power plant project.
Others are the Emeyal Oil and Gas park, Brass Fertilizer, and still ready to attract foreign investor to Bayelsa.
Yakiah, described Bayelsa as the list developed state in the South-South, they should think of how to attract development and investment than wanting to cause crisis all in the name of faction.
