Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara Commence 1999 Constitution Review Hearing

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Committee on the Review of The 1999 Constitution today commences public hearing at the Conference Hall of Sultan Maccido Institute of Qur’an and General Studies.

The 2day hearing attended by stakeholders, Civil Societies, NGOs, Women Societies among others was on the proposed alteration to the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999.

The governors of Kebbi, Zamfara and Sokoto, Atiku Bagudu, Mutawalle and Tambuwal on attendance extensively called on all to speak or discuss what would make Nigeria progress and develop to compete with world standard. They all applauded the participants and the caliber of representatives at the hearing, reminding them that the peace and development of the country rest on their presentations.

They said the Senate Committee would be mindful of all reasonable presentations.

Also at the ceremony, all the Senators of the three states were present at the sitting.
