I am committed to create more job opportunities for my people – Gov. Sule

Governor Abdullahi Sule, of Nasarawa State has reinstated his commitment towards transforming the economy of creating wealth and job opportunity for the people of the state.

Gov. Sule disclosed this on Wednesday at the government House executive conference hall during the visit of the British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing in lafia the state capital.

Gov. Sule expressed gratitude to the UK government for partnering with Nasarawa state on Agriculture and Education, while assuring that Nasarawa state would make use of all the opportunities possible to ensure that the partnership becomes a reality.

On her part, Catriona Laing, the British High commissioner, stressed that British government had expressed its readiness to partner the Nasarawa state government on specific areas of that would better the lives of Nasarawa people identifying Agriculture and Education as a priority in a bid to further aid the development of the state on infrastructures

Laing who is on a 2-day working visit to Nasarawa state, explained that the British government had come up with the decision to partner Nasarawa because the state had many potentials if utilized would improved the living condition of people in the state.

“Because of the rich mineral potentials in Nasarawa State, the British government will partner the state to develop several sectors in order to improve the living conditions of people of the state”. She said.

The British High Commissioner further appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for the many ongoing construction of projects in the state, especially the bus terminals in Karu and Keffi local government areas of the state which according to her, would ease gridlock on the Keffi-Karu highway when completed.

Speaking later during the traditional dive at the Lafia square, the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Rtd. Expressed happiness receiving the British High commissioner in Lafia, adding that “it is one of the days of his life he would never forget.”

“I want to say that me and all the people of lafia are happy to receive you and would want you to extend our appreciation to the queen of England by showing her all the things you had seen here as I know she loves African Culture.”

Reports had it that the Lafia Square was agog as Former Governors, all stakeholders in the state and traditional title holders where in attendance to receive and welcome the British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing who was dressed with the traditional attire of the Nasarawa people.
