INSECURITY: Gov. Matawalle reopens more markets, shops in Zamfara

The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle has approved the immediate resumption of business activities in some shops in the State capital and weekly markets.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Kabiru Balarebe.

He said the markets include Lalan shops, Garejin Mailena shops and Hanya shops.

According to the statement, the shop owners would not accommodate any form of attachment in their shops and that no trailer or heavy duty truck would park except to offload wares and leave afterwards.

It added that “food vendors within the area will also be screened and all activities at Kwanar Mailena should end by 8 pm, while those at Lalan should end by 10 pm daily.

“The Task Force on Security will be monitoring the areas to ensure full and proper compliance.”

He explained that Badarawa – Jangebe junction, Colony Junction, Shinkafi – Zurmi junction, Tashar Maduwa, among other markers would also be reopened on same condition.
