The Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Professor Marietu Ohunene Tenuche has vowed to continue to fight against cultism and other vices to boost academic excellence in the institution.
She warned that anybody caught in the act irrespective of status would be shown the way out from the University and also be made to face the full wrath of the law.
The Vice Chancellor who gave the warning at the 6th Convocation Press Briefing held at the University Auditorium over the weekend also promised to embark on massive execution of viable projects that would enhance quality education.
Professor Tenuche disclosed that since assumption of office, one year ago, she has been able to complete some projects inherited from the previous administrations in the University and also embarked on new ones which she said have been completed.
According to the VC, some of these projects, are; the asphalt laying of the road linking the Dangana Hostel Junction and Law Faculty, rehabilitation of Prince Abubakar Audu Way with complete asphalt lay in partnership with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), renovation of all Students Hostels and equipping of the Language Laboratory in the Faculty of Education amongst others.
She said that the enumerated projects have been commissioned by the Executive Governor of Kogi state and Visitor to the University, Yahaya Bello as part of the activities marking the 6th convocation ceremony.
The VC expressed happiness that in the latest ranking by the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba emerged one of the 25 out of 170 public and Private Universities in Nigeria that have full accreditation of all courses offered.
“In addition, our result in the last bar examinations showed that all the students of PAAU presented for the Council of Legal Education Bar final examinations, with the exception of one candidate that had carry-out passed.
Professor Tenuche further stressed her resolve to ensure the security of lives and property in the University as she has engaged both private security outfit and Vigilante Group in partnership to achieve the goal.
