By Isaac Kertyo, Makurdi

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom on Thursday flagged off the Makurdi-Yogbo-Udei road with a charge on the construction firm, TRIACTA Nigeria Limited to ensure early completion of the project.

The Governor explained that the road which had been a security challenge to the community if constructed would reduce insecurity as well as hardship being experienced by the people of the area.

Ortom pledged his administration’s commitment to continue to do its best to keep the social contract he entered into with the people of the state by providing good governance for faster development.

” This road has constituted a challenge not just to the inhabitants but to security agents because I am aware some security operatives due to the bad terrain of the road especially during raining season were not just injured but some lost their lives on this very road.”

He continued: ” Iam existed that with the clearing alone it has paved the way for security agents and our livestock guards to complement the efforts of our security operatives in course of tackling insecurity”.

The Governor who lauded the security agents over their painstaking efforts in the fight against bandits, terrorists, herders among others, stressed that some of them have paid supreme prices.

Ortom Implored people of the area to support the Contractor to enable them complete the project. He described the construction company handling the road project as a reputable firm.
