The newly established Abuja University of Technology, AUTA, Abaji, would commence academic session in 2021.
Acting Director, Administration and Finances, FCTA Education Secretariat, Mallam Leramoh Abdulrazaq, disclosed this at the end of the year media interaction in Abuja during the week informed that all arrangements have been concluded to ensure the commencement of academic programme in the institution in 2021.
Abdulrazaq further revealed that the administration has approved inclusive education policy for the FCT, while six pilot schools have been designated for commencement as inclusive education schools, adding that the technical committee for the implementation of the policy has already been inaugurated.
Abdulrazaq said that the secretariat would introduce virtual school system in 2021, to ensure that basic education services, at basic and post basic levels in FCT, is made available to residents of the territory.
The Acting director said that the secretariat is also upgrading its
E-education management information system , EMIS, to provide accurate information to stakeholders in the FCT education system.
According to him about 300 teachers have been trained in batches, on general teaching methods and classroom management, as well as post COVID-19 training for all principals and vice principals in FCT schools.
