Again, Gov Ganduje Fires Controversial Ex-Commissioner, Mu’azu Magaji

For the second time in a year, Engr. Mu’azu Magaji (Dansarauniya) has been sacked under Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The governor had first sacked Magaji who was a commissioner after a post on Facebook inferred he mocked the death of Abba Kyari, erstwhile Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, who had died of complications from COVID-19.

However, some months later, Ganduje engaged him in another capacity.

He was appointed the Executive Chairman, state NNPC/AKK Gas Pipeline Project and Gas Industrialisation Committee.

But on Monday, Ganduje terminated his appointment over “poor performance and insubordination”.

Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, announced the sack in a statement.

The statement said the controversial ex-commissioner failed to live above board in carrying out the responsibility assigned to him to oversee the project.

According to the statement, his leadership of the committee, which is to among other things, to coordinate in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the project has not been forthcoming in working to achieve the desired objective.

The statement said the governor directed Magaji to hand over the affairs of the committee to the Deputy Executive Chairman, Aminu Babba Dan‘Agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba.
