Honourable Target Isaiah Segibo, Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Council, has fiercely condemned the vigilante actions in Aguobiri Community that led to the death of Mr. Ezekiel Biriabibi last Sunday, calling for swift justice.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ayebaitari Easterday, Segibo urged residents who fled the community to return and resume normal activities, assuring them that the government is working tirelessly to restore peace and security in the area.
During a security meeting with key stakeholders, including High Chief Francis Aguobiri of the Ogboin North Rural Development Authority and Mr. Ayebanua Laboh, Councilor for Southern Ijaw Ward One, Segibo criticized the vigilantes for bypassing legal authorities.
He stressed that only constitutionally empowered security agencies should handle criminal matters.
The Chairman called on law enforcement to leave no stone unturned in apprehending those responsible, particularly vigilante members, and ensuring they face the full force of the law.
