By  Milcah   Tanimu

Akah Nnani, an acclaimed actor and TV host, is celebrated for his roles in the award-winning film *Man of God* and the Amazon Original series *She Must Be Obeyed*. In an industry often defined by typecasting and stereotyping, Nnani has defied expectations by consistently delivering standout performances.

In a recent interview , Nnani shared insights into his journey, acknowledging the challenges he faced due to his unconventional appearance and background. Despite these obstacles, he remained focused on his goal of avoiding typecasting and proving his unique value in the acting world.

“I began with the intention to be an actor who wouldn’t be confined by stereotypes. Although I didn’t fit the traditional image of an actor at the time, I was determined to showcase something different. I committed to working hard to ensure that every opportunity I received was met with my best effort,” Nnani explained.

Nnani is known for his versatility, showcasing his wit and humor across various projects such as *Banana Island Ghost*, the Ndani TV series *Bottomline*, and *She Must Obey*. He strives to make a memorable impact with every role, regardless of its size.

“If I’m cast as a minor character, I make sure to make the most of it. My goal is to be unforgettable. Every scene, no matter how small, is an opportunity to leave a lasting impression,” he said.

He attributes his success to a deep understanding of his craft, developed through studying films and actors. This dedication helped him stand out and secure more significant roles over time.

“Initially, I took on various projects, including web series, theatre, and short films. Theatre, in particular, honed my skills. Even without major film opportunities, I continued to work and refine my craft,” Nnani added.

Nnani also noted a shift in how producers view talent, with more recognizing the value of actors who bring their own unique strengths to the table.

“Producers are starting to notice and appreciate talent more. Despite the challenges and occasional doubts about my decisions, being recognized for my work encourages me,” he concluded.
