By Emeka Samuel

NPFL side Akwa United of Uyo has renewed its partnership with DANA Air
meant to ease the burden of transportation to far flung league venues
for the 2018/19 league season scheduled to commence next month.

The contract which would last for one year was signed on Wednesday
between the club chairman Mr Paul Bassey representing the club and
DANA head of media My Kingsley Ezenwa.

At the ceremony in Uyo Ezenwa said the renewal was part of their
commitment to supporting all activities of Akwa Ibom state government.

He commended the club for their sterling performance in the last
league season and their playing style which has endeared them to
football fans nationwide adding that the company would do all within
its power to sustain the partnership.

Ezenwa added that the company has intensified efforts to include fans
in the partnership in order for the club to get the support of fans
even while playing away games.

In his own remark Bassey who expressed his gratitude to the company
for believing in the club and sustaining the partnership however
called for improvement in the terms of the contract.

The FIFA match commissioner maintained that the club is determined to
do well this league season assuring the company of an improved
performance over that of last year.

“I assure you that you will do well and that you will get the full
value of your investment in Akwa United.” Bassey said.

The Promise Keepers who finished second in the last league season is
the first club in the NPFL to have entered into travelling
partnership with an airline.
