Armed Herders Kill Six Farmers, Injure Many in Benue State

Armed men suspected to be herdsmen have allegedly attacked and killed six persons, while others sustained various degrees of injuries during renewed attacks on two communities in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

Findings by Day Break indicated that the Herders attacked, Tse Gamber in Sengev Council Ward, killing no fewer than three people, while another member of the community, Mr Iorhon Dan, has been reportedly wisked away by the herdsmen.

It was further gathered that the assailants also stormed Camp Nagi in Mbachohon Council Ward, a settlement along Naka-Agagbe road, where they murdered three persons and injured several others.

According to informed source, the bodies of those killed were yet to be removed for of being lynched by the attackers as at the time of filing this report.

This incident occurred barely three weeks after suspected armed bandits launched attacks on some communities in the area, killing many people.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Benue State Police Command, SP Sewuese Anene, who confirmed the incident, stated that she lost three of her cousins in the renewed attacks.
