As Harmattan Retards Business Activities In Kano, Residents Shunned Early Morning Outings

Harmattan which retarded activities in Kano last Tuesday especially at the early morning ours and late evenings, most of the residents remained indoors were only few makes early morning outings Teusday.

Investigations carried out by our correspondent in Kano, revealed that there was a Harmattan across the state which forced people to either stay at home or get an alternative to dodge the effects from the dusts as a result of the dark weather.

At Dungurawa Town, Daybreak News reported that the expressway from Kano to Katsina state was empty as at 6-7am Teusday as some residents were spotted with different types of cold prevention attires while others sorround places where they can warm themselves.

Malam Tukur Adamu, a firewood seller at the roadside disclosed that ” today 3-01-2023, the Harmattan becomes too harsh, look at how the Town remain in darkness due to the dust that overtakes everywhere, but it is seasonal in the next few days the Harmattan would cease for the people to continue with their normal activities”.

Similarly, Malam Aliyu Hussain who is having a athmatic problem stated that whenever there is high rate of Harmattan, he resolved to stay indoors so as to guard against what his illness may turn, adding that most of those who remained indoors are having problems that is related to lung issues.

Investigations shows that the charcoal and firewood seller are now making profit whenever the cold wheather approached like what is happening where the cold is increasing.
