Asake Crowned Nigeria’s Best-Selling Artist of 2024

By Abigail Philip David

Grammy-nominated singer Asake has been officially named Nigeria’s best-selling artist of 2024, surpassing the country’s biggest music stars and solidifying his dominance in the industry.

According to the annual year-end chart by TurnTable, Nigeria’s leading music chart publication, Asake claimed the No. 1 spot for the third consecutive year—a historic achievement never before accomplished in Nigeria’s music scene.

Major Project Milestones
In 2024, Asake’s previous albums, ‘Mr Money With The Vibe (MMWTV)’ and ‘Work of Art’, maintained strong performances, consistently ranking in the top ten of the Official Top 100 Albums chart.

However, it was his third album, ‘Lungu Boy’, that made the biggest impact. Released in August, the album dominated the charts, spending 15 weeks at No. 1 and ending the year as the best-selling album of 2024.

Radio and Chart Dominance
Asake also secured the title of Nigeria’s No. 1 radio artist for the second straight year. He closed out 2024 with the highest overall chart points on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart.

His hit single “MMS” featuring Wizkid topped the Year-End Afro-R&B chart and debuted at No. 1 on the Official Nigeria Top 100, where it held the top spot for three weeks.

Streaming Platform Success
Asake’s influence extended across major streaming platforms. He finished 2024 as the most-streamed artist on Apple Music in Nigeria, with ‘Lungu Boy’ leading as the top album. He also dominated Audiomack and was named the No. 1 artist on YouTube Nigeria.

Asake’s record-breaking run in 2024 cements his place as a powerhouse in Nigerian music, continuing to set new standards for success in the industry.
