Those screened during Monday’s plenary were among 23 nominees sent by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri last month, October 23, to the House of Assembly.

Last week, the House of Assembly had scheduled Monday, November 4, for the beginning of the screening of the nominees named by Fintiri to serve as members of the State Executive Council.

Prof. Isa Abdullahi from Mubi South, Dr. Dishi Khobe from Numan, Dr. Ishaya John Dabari (Michika) and Dr. Umaru Garba from the Hong Local Government Area were among the nominees screened during Monday’s plenary session.

Others included Shaibu Audu from Mayo Belwa, Sanusi Faruk (Toungo), Aloysius Babadoke (Jada), Justina Obadiah Nkom (Lamurde), Mrs Wulbina Jackson (Guyuk), and Hassan Kaigamma (Maiha).

The chairman of the sitting, Speaker Aminu Iya Abbas, charged those screened by the House to ensure full compliance with all State Assembly resolutions for the smooth running of their offices.

The screening exercise was attended by the People’s Democratic Party State Chairman, PDP, Barrister A T Shehu, as well as other PDP stalwarts and former House members.
