AUGUSTINE CHUKWU UMAHI’S APPOINTMENT: A PRICELESS MOTIVATION FOR PROGRESSIVES

Hon. Orji Uchenna Orji

The recent appointment of Chief Augustine Chukwu Umahi, former Director-General of the Divine Mandate Campaign Organization and the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Ebonyi State, has been widely welcomed by progressives across Ebonyi State. Particularly, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the ward, local government, and state levels see this development as a strong motivator for increased support and solidarity toward the Renewed Hope administration of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The people of Ebonyi State deeply appreciate President Tinubu for the numerous appointments granted to sons and daughters of the state under his administration.

Chief Augustine Chukwu Umahi’s appointment is regarded as a top-tier selection, given his track record of integrity, diligence, political experience, and unwavering dedication to public service. His contributions to the political advancement of Ebonyi State and the South East, coupled with his alignment with the ideals of the Renewed Hope agenda, make him a deserving choice.

History will remember Chief Umahi as a key figure in Ebonyi State’s journey toward national political integration, particularly following the state’s decision to join the APC in 2021.

Chief Austin Umahi is widely respected and admired, especially among Ebonyi youths and emerging politicians, for his generosity and compassion toward the underprivileged. He embodies goodwill, gratitude, resilience, and moral uprightness.

At a critical moment in Ebonyi State’s political history in 2014, Chief Umahi played a pivotal role in establishing the Divine Mandate platform, which has since become the foundation of the state’s contemporary political structure.

During the 2023 general elections, as Director-General of the APC’s campaign structure in Ebonyi State, he effectively coordinated campaign operations at all levels, leading the party to victory despite significant challenges that affected APC’s electoral fortunes in the South East. His leadership ensured a sweeping victory for APC in his polling unit and influenced voting patterns in his area.

Criticism from an insignificant opposition minority within the state should be dismissed as baseless dissatisfaction from individuals who refuse to embrace the inclusive governance of the Divine Mandate administration, especially after their defeat in the 2023 elections.

Chief Augustine Chukwu Umahi has paid his dues, made patriotic sacrifices, and worked tirelessly to advance Ebonyi State. His appointment as Chairman of the Board of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital is, therefore, a well-earned recognition of his service by both the state and federal governments.

This appointment is a testament to the Renewed Hope administration’s commitment to rewarding dedication, loyalty, and forthright service. It serves as a priceless motivation for progressives and all those striving for the success of the Renewed Hope agenda in Ebonyi State.

The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, FNIOB, GGCEHF, deserves commendation for his exemplary leadership, which continues to foster peace, unity, and development in the state.

Similarly, the Honourable Minister of Works, His Excellency, Sen. Engr. Nweze David Umahi, CON, FNSE, FNATE, GGCEHF, deserves recognition for laying the foundation for a smooth political succession in Ebonyi State and ensuring the realization of its political destiny. As a visionary leader, he positioned the state within the national political mainstream, and today, Ebonyi is reaping the benefits.

I extend my warmest congratulations to Chief Augustine Chukwu Umahi on his well-deserved appointment as Chairman of a Federal Board.

May God bless Mr. President, the Governor of Ebonyi State, and the Honourable Minister of Works.

Hon. Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji
