Basketmouth Responds as Daughter Playfully Calls Him Out for “Embarrassing the Family

By Abigail Philip David

Nigerian comedian and filmmaker Bright Okpocha, widely known as Basketmouth, recently shared a humorous exchange with his daughter, who jokingly accused him of “embarrassing the Okpocha family.”

The lighthearted moment unfolded after a viral video showed Basketmouth learning dance moves from popular content creator Brain Jotter. The comedian’s attempt to promote his latest movie through dancing caught the attention of his daughter, leading to a playful confrontation.

In an Instagram video, Basketmouth FaceTimed his daughter, who expressed her mock disapproval. “Hello, Daddy, I know you’re trying to promote your new movie, but can you stop with the dance? You’re embarrassing the entire Okpocha clan. Just stop; your movie will sell,” she said.

Taking the feedback in stride, Basketmouth responded with humor on social media. “I used to think that I was the pride of my family,” he tweeted.

The father-daughter banter has resonated with fans, sparking laughter and praise for their relatable and heartwarming interaction.
