The youth of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) claimed that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is preparing, with the help of mercenaries and bandits, to rig the upcoming election of the Bayelsa state governorship.

On Sunday, November 3, the south-south youth vanguard of the PDP made the accusation when raising concerns about the likelihood of violence during the election.

The group’s national chairman, James Efe Akpofure, warned that the state’s people will not stand by and allow mercenaries and bandits to truncate the Bayelsa state electoral process.

Akpofure said that if the party was not ready for the vote, the APC should ask INEC to announce the PDP as the winner of the election.

He urged the people of Bayelsa to wisely vote and support Governor Seriake Dickson’s development move by voting for PDP candidate Diri Duoye.

The youth leader said the APC is involved only in the state of Bayelsa because the state is rich in oil.
