Concerned stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue State have unanimously endorsed, Sen Gabriel Suswam as its sole candidate for the position of National Chairman ahead of the party’s National Executive Committee Meeting, which is slated for April this year.
The group in their unanimous decision during a meeting held at Halidays Hotel, Makurdi described, Sen Suswam as a stabilizer and politician with the capacity to instill discipline, law and order within the party.
Speaking at the event, the Zonal National Secretary, representing North Central, Mr Maurice Tsav, underscored the importance of retaining the position of National Chairman of the party in the North Central zone for equity and fair play.
Mr Tsav emphasized that for equity and fairness, and in line with the party’s constitution, the North Central zone ought to have been allowed to complete its tenure for the position of National Chairman.
“When Bamanga Tukur, from the North East could not complete his term as National Chairman, the North Easterners like former Governor, Muazu Adamu and Alhaji Sheriff, were brought in to serve out the North Eastern tenure.”

Earlier, the Convener of the meeting, and former Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the party, Dr Paul Ubwa, disclosed that he called for the meeting to present Sen Gabriel Suswam before stakeholders for consideration as the national chairmanship aspirant due to his starling leadership qualities in both the executive and legislative arms.
