Benue Police Command to Collaborate with Institutions, Others to Tackle Crimes

The new Commissioner of Police Benue State Command, Mr Tunji Akinbola says the Command is collaborating with Institutions, Faith Based Organizations, Traditional leaders to stamp out cultism and other criminal activities in the state.

He gave this indication when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Samuel Ortom at the Government House Makurdi, disclosing that the Command has recovered 26 rifles from cultists who are currently undergoing investigation.

The Commissioner pointed out that the Command under his watch is collaborating with other security agencies and stakeholders to fish out fabricators of local arms.

Mr Akinbola contended that efforts are being stepped up to reduce crime in the state using crimes fighting equipment such as, digital fingerprint, date based recorders among others.

” I came down and thank God that I made some crime fighting equipment. We have been able to resuscitate two of them for more effective service delivery”.

He continued: ” My focus is how to redeem these youths which I discussed with the Vice Chancellor of the Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi, Prof. Tor Iorapuu today and I have been going round to engage non governmental organizations and faith Based groups.”

Responding, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom assured that his administration would continue to support the Police and other security agencies to enable them tackle crimes in the state.
