Benue SUBEB Urges Contractors Handling Projects To Ensure Timely Completion

By Isaac Kertyo, Makurdi

State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Benue State has urged the contractors handling projects awarded to them by the board to enure timely completion of those projects.

The Acting Chairman of the board, Mr Mzaga Iorhemba who made the call in an exclusive interview with Day Break in Makurdi, the state capital, warned that contractors who failed to meet contractual agreement will have their contracts revoked without further delay.

” We urge contractors handling our projects to hasten and complete those projects so that we will pay them and take custody of them”, warning that the board will not hesitate to sanction contractors who failed to complete their projects within the specified time.

“When I was coming on board as the Acting Chairman of SUBEB and as an insider, my desire was to put some of the things in proper perspective for effective service delivery.

My aim is to fix the generator and repair the vehicles for effective monitoring of activities of the board. We have vehicles that help us to monitor activities outside the headquarters, and most of the vehicles are down.”

Mr Iorhemba assured that SUBEB would have projects to showcase within one hundred days of the, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia’s administration.

” There is a school known as Smart School built here in Makurdi and that school is being prepared to be listed as one of the projects that the Governor is to commission within one hundred days in office.”
