Christian leaders in Bichi, Kano State, have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence with the host Muslim community, emphasizing that unity and progress thrive on mutual respect and understanding.
This was disclosed during an interaction with leaders of the Grace of God Mission as part of Christmas festivities.
In their remarks, Mr. Daniel Chinedu and Elder Monday Chinemere, long-time residents of Bichi, noted that their over 20 years in the community have been marked by harmony and cooperation.
“Bichi has been our home, and we’ve always enjoyed a cordial relationship with the Muslim community here. There has never been any misunderstanding because of the good leadership on both sides,” said Chinedu.
They added that the peaceful environment has encouraged their continued residence in the area, highlighting that such unity has been sustained for decades.
“We always offer prayers for the Bichi community, Kano State, and Nigeria as a whole. Without peace, there can be no development, and we are committed to making prayers for peace a continuous program,” they reassured.
The Christian leaders also commended the member representing Bichi Local Government at the Federal House of Representatives, Engineer Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, for including Christian residents in his scholarship programs.
“His inclusiveness demonstrates his generosity and commitment to serving all, regardless of religious differences. We urge other leaders to emulate him by carrying everyone along because we are all brothers and sisters, despite our different faiths,” they emphasized.
