Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has opened up about her greatest fear, which is the fragility of friendships.
The Yoruba movie star expressed her concern about the frequent breakdown of friendships and how former best friends often air their grievances publicly.
While acknowledging that it is not always possible for childhood friendships to last for 20 years, Bimpe emphasized the importance of not letting such differences escalate into lifelong enmity.
As a single mother, she expressed gratitude to God for giving her grace and maturity. She also mentioned that when she ends a friendship, she prefers to simply fade away rather than engage in confrontations.
“Nothing scares me more than friendship. The way friendships can fall apart is truly alarming.
“”Oh my goodness! Best friends turning into enemies. It’s so disheartening to see them become internet fighters, airing their dirty laundry in public! It truly breaks my heart! Of course, not all childhood friendships can last a lifetime, but it shouldn’t lead to lifelong enmity either! I’m grateful to God for giving me grace and maturity. When our time together is over, I simply fade away from your life. Your chapter has closed for me, but I still wish you well.”
During the celebration of her colleague Yetunde Bakare’s birthday last year, Bimpe Akintunde made it known that she doesn’t keep friends. However, with Bakare, she considers her as a sister.
On her Instagram page, she joined her fellow colleagues in celebrating Yetunde Bakare. She expressed her admiration for Bakare’s lovely and happy soul, and how she has become attached to her. Bimpe Akintunde wished Bakare congratulations on the blessings she keeps private and prayed for her lasting joy. As Bakare celebrates her birthday on this special day, Bimpe Akintunde prayed for her continuous happiness. She concluded by sending her warm regards, signing off with “Owo Mama Larry mii” (meaning “My Larry’s mother’s money”).
Recently, Bimpe Akintunde shared her thoughts on love life and penned a heartfelt message to single mothers. In a lengthy Instagram post, the Yoruba actress opened up about her own experience as a single mother for the past 8 years and revealed that she has been without a relationship for almost two years.
Bimpe clarified that her single status was not due to her appearance or being a terrible person, but rather because she chooses to sever ties with relationships that do not bring value or happiness into her life. She acknowledged that being single can be challenging, but emphasized that it is not the end of the world, and she has learned to trust in God’s plan.
Encouraging others, especially single mothers, Bimpe urged them to follow her lead and let go of any relationship that does not contribute positively to their lives. She emphasized the importance of self-worth and the pursuit of genuine connections that bring joy and fulfillment.
In her powerful note, Bimpe Akintunde provided reassurance and inspiration to single mothers, reminding them that they have the strength to prioritize their own happiness and make choices that align with their values.
