The Presiding Bishop and Founder of the Redeemed Evangelical Mission International , Lagos Bishop Mike Okonkwo has promised to support the Christian Leaders Consultative Peace Forum being championed by the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC.
Bishop Okonkwo disclosed this in Lagos recently when he received the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev Yakubu Pam in his church headquarters in Lagos
The Clergy assured the NCPC boss that he would support any positive initiative that would bring a lasting peace in the country.
The Cleric explained that no sacrifice would be too much to salvage the present state of the nation.
He emphazied that the Church has all it takes to help bring back peace into the country through genuine engagement with strategic stakeholders in the Nigeria project.
He further promised to support the worthy cause of the Christian Leaders and reiterated his unalloyed support.
He assured the NCPC boss who is the Convener of the peace forum that he would support actively in the proposed meeting of the body slated for early next year in South East, in Enugu
He thanked the NCPC BOSS and his team for their sacrificial Leadership and service to the nation.
He prayed that God in His infinite mercy would continue to reward the good efforts of Rev Pam in peace building in Nigeria.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev Yakubu Pam briefed the Clergy on the just concluded Christian Leaders Consultative meeting in Lagos.
According to him the meeting was held to bring Christian leaders in Lagos together to find a lasting solution to youth restiveness as well as the general state of the nation.
Rev Pam expressed happiness at the quality of representation at the peace meeting and gave the assurance that every resolution reached at the meeting would be communicated to the Lagos State Governor and the Presidency.
Rev. Pam described Bishop Okonkwo as a dependable servant of God who had contributed immensely to the development of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
