Blasphemy: Controversial Kano Cleric, Abduljabbar Kabara, to Die by Hanging

A Kano Upper Shari’a Court sitting at Kofar Kudu, has pronounced the embattled cleric, Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, guilty of Blasphemy and ordered his execution by hanging.

The judge, Mallam Ibrahim Sarki Yola, delivered the conviction in a court session which lasted for over two hours.

Before giving his verdict, the judge said, “I am convinced that the prosecution counsel has done their part and proven their points beyond reasonable doubt.”

He thereafter convicted the defendant of all the charges levelled against him.

Kabara was standing trial for making blasphemous statements against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), an act, the prosecution said, was s capable of inciting public disturbance.

Abduljabbar was charged in July 2021 by the Kano State government.
