The Borno State Government has provided an update on the pledges and actual donations received for the Maiduguri relief fund as of Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
The update, issued by Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, SSA New Media to the Borno State Governor, lists donations from various sources, including prominent individuals, state governments, and NGOs. The document highlights contributions from notable figures such as 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, billionaire Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and Alhaji Aminu Dantata, as well as support from eight states and various non-governmental organizations.
The statement notes that not all pledged amounts have been credited to the Maiduguri Relief Fund yet. It provides a detailed breakdown of contributions:

1. Bauchi State: N250 million
2. Kebbi State: N200 million
3. Adamawa State: N50 million
4. Yobe State: N100 million
5. Kano State: N100 million
6. Gombe State: N100 million
7. Taraba State: N100 million
8. Katsina State: N100 million
Organizations and Individuals:
1. Alhaji Aliko Dangote: N2 billion (N1 billion to NEMA)
2. Alhaji Aminu Dantata: N1.5 billion

4. HE Peter Obi: N50 million
5. North East Development Commission: N3 billion
6. Nigerian Senate: N54.5 million
7. House of Representatives: N100 million
8. People’s Democratic Party (PDP): N25 million

Non-Cash Donations:
1. North East Development Commission: 20,000 bags of 25kg rice, 20,000 cartons of macaroni, and 10,000 gallons of vegetable oil.
2. Sumal Food Group, Ibadan: 50,000 loaves of bread and 5,000 cartons of biscuits.
3. Nasarawa State Government: 2 trucks of rice, 2 trucks of spaghetti, and 2 trucks of sugar.
4. General Buba Marwa (Rtd): 10 truckloads of fertilizer worth N120 million.
5. Hon. Aminu Jaji (HOR): 600 bags of rice.
6. Nigerian Society of Engineers, Borno State Chapter: 10,000 wrappers.
7. Engineer Usman Monguno: 10,000 wrappers.
8. Alhaji Abdulkadir Ali (Matrix Energy): Assorted food items worth N120 million.
9. National Agency for the Great Green Wall: Various food items and household goods.
10. Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)/COREN: 400kg of used clothes.
The Borno State Government thanked all contributors for their support and highlighted that updates on redeemed pledges and material support will be announced in due course.
