BORNO MOURNS,COS, MAL.ABBA KYARI, DESCRIBED AS COMMITTED, PRINCIPLED AND DEDICATED

MAIDUGURI the BORNO state capital was, Saturday, thrown into mourning mood following the demise of,Mal.Abba Kyari, the chief of staff,COS,to President Muhammadu Buhari.as a result of COVID-19 pandemic related complications.
 Thrown into the mourning mood included,traditional,community and religious leaders, VIPs,all and sundry and students from a cross section of institutions in the state and beyond.
Mal.Abba Kyari, a Kanuri from Bama Local Government Area of the state, died from complication related to COVID-19, before being laid to rest at Gudu cemetery, FCTAbuja.
Several of his native relations and friends from Bama and Maiduguri metropolis described him as highly principled, dedicated and committed to service.

Also the Governor Babagana Zulum, had earlier made a special request for dedicated prayers  be offerred for the repose of his  soul at different IDP camps in Ngala and Gamboru towns, while addressing 13,433 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at their torched camp and host communities.

In his condolence message,the Shehu of Bama, Alhaji Kyari Umar El-Kanemi declared that; “The death of Abba Kyari was a huge loss to humanity,” while commending his tireless contributions to the nation. “He has not been compromising anything, he has given one hundred per cent loyalty, commitment and he has faithfully served the nation, he has done us proud, death is inevitable, all human beings have its allotted date by Almighty Allah which no one will escape “.

In the same vein,the Secretary to the Borno Elders Forum (BOEF), Dr. Bulama Mali Gubio, said that contrary to perceptions, the late Kyari was humble, cool-headed and incorruptible. His words in Maiduguri; “People like him are rare, even though Nigerians will want someone who will cut corners, someone who will do things which are not supposed to be done.

“Abba Kyari will never cut corners; he will never take side with injustice. He will never take anything that will not be according to the law and that has set him up with so many people who saw him as a very difficult person.”

And  called on Nigerians to forgive his shortcomings and pray for the quick end of COVID-19 that has claimed over 165,000 lives globally.

 One of his childhood friends, a retired federal permanent secretary, Ambassador Baba Kura Kaigama said that Kyari was a pillar of the society

Also, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) condoled with President Buhari and the family of Kyari.

A statement by NANS President Comrade Danielson Akpan,  described Kyari as a pragmatic, honest and loyal leader that is worthy of emulation by the younger generation.
