Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, alongside counterparts Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa State) and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe State), as well as Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, and former Anambra governorship candidates Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and Uche Ekwunife, are currently engaged in a confidential session with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC leaders arrived at the secretariat around 12:30 pm on Wednesday and were warmly welcomed by APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje before entering into the closed-door meeting. Also part of the delegation is former Anambra South Senator Andy Uba.
Although the specific agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed publicly, a source revealed that the ruling party aims to revitalize and restructure Anambra APC, positioning it for increased activity in the upcoming governorship, presidential, and National Assembly elections.
The source added, “From what we heard, the NWC in conjunction with the APC governors are trying to model the Anambra political structure and machination in a similar way as the Rivers chapter. There are also whispers that the new APC structure may be handed over to Senator Ubah and Ekwunife.”
This political strategy session follows the recent formal inclusion of Senator Ubah, Ekwunife, and their supporters into the Anambra APC, marking the first visit of Senator Ubah to the APC fold in Anambra since joining on October 12.
