BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Babcock University Nurse in Ogun State

On Thursday evening, unknown gunmen abducted Mrs. Elizabeth Uruakpa, a 66-year-old Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State. Uruakpa was reportedly returning from an evening church service when the assailants ambushed her at the entrance of her home, located near the new Ilisan market.

Eyewitnesses say the gunmen dragged her from her vehicle and forced her into their red Toyota car before speeding off. The sudden abduction caused widespread panic in the neighborhood, with many residents and shop owners quickly shutting their doors.

A local resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the incident: “It happened around 7 p.m. when she was returning from church. The gunmen acted swiftly and took her away. This is the first time something like this has happened here, and it’s terrifying.”

Dr. Joshua Suleiman, Director of Communication and Marketing for Babcock University, confirmed the abduction but noted that more details were still being gathered. Efforts to reach the Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, for further comments were unsuccessful as of the time of this report.
