Breaking…Gunmen kill APC chieftain in Bayelsa

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Sunday Frank Oputu, has been killed by unknown gunmen suspected to be assassins.

Frank Oputu is a strong supporter of the Senator Heineken Lokpobiri whose faction is contesting the legality of the recently conducted ward, local government and state congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a Bayelsa State High Court.

The decease hail from Igbemotoru in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state, he is said to be in his early fifties .

He was a former Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) in the state.

Daybreak news gathered that the deceased was reportedly killed in an execution like style about 11:50pm yesterday at his Bay-Bridge residence, Yenezue-gene, Yenagoa.

When Daybreak news called the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Butswat Asinim , for confirmation , his number was busy and text message sent was not responded at time of filing in this report.
