The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially appointed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, Yilwatda Nentawe, as the new substantive National Chairman of the party.
The announcement was made by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who leads the Progressive Governors’ Forum, during the party’s 14th NEC meeting held at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday.
The motion for Nentawe’s appointment was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
Nentawe was immediately sworn into office at exactly 2:50 p.m., in the presence of top APC leaders and stakeholders.
A native of Plateau State in the North Central region, Nentawe previously contested as the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.
