Breaking News: Delta Governor’s Election Upheld, Omo-Agege’s Petition Dismissed

By Milcah Tanimu

In a significant development, the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, in its verdict today on September 29, 2023, has dismissed Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s petition against the election victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. The tribunal declared that Omo-Agege’s petition lacked merit.

Justice C.H. Ahuchaogu, leading a three-member tribunal panel, announced the decision, reaffirming Governor Oborevwori as the legitimate winner of the gubernatorial election held on March 18, 2023. The tribunal concluded that the petitioners were unable to substantiate their claims of Electoral Act violations and corrupt practices beyond a reasonable doubt.
