Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, has been declared the winner of the governorship election held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Ayedatiwa’s victory after he secured wins in all 18 local government areas of the state.
In the final local government result presented on Sunday at the State Collation Centre in Akure, Ayedatiwa triumphed in Ese Odo, completing a clean sweep following victories in the 17 other LGAs.
According to the State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, Ayedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, garnered a total of **366,781 votes**, defeating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored **117,845 votes**.
Prof. Akinwumi declared, “That Ayedatiwa Lucky Orimisan of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby returned elected.”
