Britney Spears and Sam Asghari Call It Quits After 14 Months

By Daniel Edu

Britney Spears and her spouse Sam Asghari have reportedly ended their marriage after a mere 14 months, as multiple reports suggest.

Representatives for the singer and the actor have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the alleged split.

The pop star, aged 41, and the actor, aged 29, exchanged vows on June 9, 2022, culminating a five-year relationship. This marked Spears’ third marriage and Asghari’s first.

The couple initially crossed paths in October 2016 during the filming of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video. Their romance was confirmed publicly in January 2017.

Asghari proposed to Spears in September 2021, offering a four-carat diamond ring engraved with the nickname “Lioness,” which Spears accepted enthusiastically and announced on Instagram.

Their wedding ceremony was a lavish event held at Spears’ mansion in Thousand Oaks, California. The guest list featured around 60 attendees, including notable names like Madonna, Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, and Paris Hilton.

While their marriage appeared strong, with several public displays of affection and mutual support, recent events suggest a different outcome. In March, they were seen separately without their wedding rings, igniting rumors of marital trouble. Asghari’s representative, however, clarified that he had removed his ring due to filming commitments.

Spears’ ongoing legal battles and struggles with mental health have been widely documented, including her conservatorship that was in place for over a decade before its termination in November 2021. Asghari consistently stood by her side during these difficult times and vocally supported her efforts to regain control over her life.

The couple’s journey included plans for expanding their family, as they announced Spears’ pregnancy in April 2022. Tragically, she later disclosed the miscarriage of their “miracle baby” in May, expressing gratitude for their enduring love and determination to start a family together.

While Spears and Asghari’s love story seemed to be one of strength and solidarity, their recent reported separation suggests a different ending to their short-lived marriage.
