Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has announced that the late former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest on Tuesday in his hometown, Daura, located in the Daura Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking to journalists at the Government House in Katsina on Monday, Governor Radda disclosed that arrangements for the burial had been finalized in consultation with Buhari’s family and associates in London.
“The burial arrangement for our father, the late president who passed away yesterday in a London hospital, has been concluded,” he said. “The body will arrive in Katsina tomorrow by 12 noon, and the burial will take place in Daura at about 2 p.m.”
The governor extended condolences on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State to Buhari’s family, the entire nation, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the loss.
“May Almighty Allah grant us the strength to bear this great loss,” he added.
Buhari died on Sunday in the United Kingdom at the age of 82. Following the news of his death, President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila to accompany the late president’s remains back to Nigeria.
